Set-up and dismantling at a glance

Set-up

Monday, 17 October 2022
7.00 am – 10.00 pm

Tuesday, 18 October 2022
7.00 am – 10.00 pm

All persons entrusted with stand construction must carry stand construction passes. This also applies to exhibitors, as exhibitor passes are only valid during the trade fair itself in 2022.

Set-up must be completed by 10.00 pm on Tuesday, 18 October 2022, and all persons are requested to vacate the premises by then.

Please make sure to keep the hall aisles free during set-up, as materials blocking the aisle is a hindrance and may delay the work by our service contractors. This applies in particular on the last set-up day (Tuesday), when the aisle carpets will be fitted. Any unrequired Frankfurter Buchmesse System Stand material can be left at the hall edges for collection.

Access to all fire extinguishers and hydrants must be kept clear at all times.

Early access for exhibitors with Custom-built Stands

Stand construction or delivery of stand construction materials before Monday, 17 October 2022 is only possible for exhibitors with Custom-built Stands of 40 sqm or more with special written permission from Frankfurter Buchmesse. For early access (including delivery of stand materials), a fee of 765 euros for two to three days (from 14 or 15 October) or 180 euros for one day (16 October 2022) will be charged.

Please send your application for early access by 1 August 2022 - together with your stand construction plans for the stand approval - to custombuiltstand@buchmesse.de.

Click here to download the application for early access.

Dismantling

Frankfurter Buchmesse officially ends at 5.30 pm on Sunday 23 October 2022 – all stands must be staffed until then. After 5.30 removal of the hall aisle carpets will commence.

Packing up within the stands, the delivery of packaging material, or the dismantling of stands beforehand is not permitted.

All System Stands must be emptied by Sunday evening, 23 October 2022, at the latest. On Monday, the cleaning staff will empty the bench cabinets, dispose of contents and dismantle the stands. The Frankfurter Buchmesse accepts no liabilizy for materials not removed in good time.

Exhibitors with Custom-built Stands may use the following time period throughout to dismantle their stands:
Sunday, October 23, 2022, approx. 6:30 pm
until Monday, 24 October 2022, 0.00 pm.

Clearance and cleanup of the exhibition area must be completed by midnight on Monday. If a Custom-built Stand is not dismantled until Monday, the exhibitor is responsible for securing and guarding his stand and exhibits. The Frankfurter Buchmesse accepts no liability for materials not removed in good time.

Please do not lock up the phones after the event closes, but have them ready for collection.

Early dismantling

Not only is it uncooperative, but also a violation of our Terms & Conditions to vacate or leave the stand before the official end of the fair (Sunday, 23 October 2022, 5.30 pm).

If your early departure is absolutely necessary, you can hire a hostess to look after your stand for around 190 euros (+ VAT) per day. See the Service Contractors  page for details.

Extended dismantling for exhibitors with Custom-built Stands

Extended dismantling until Tuesday, 25 October 2022, can only be granted to Custom-built Stands of 40 sqm or larger, and is subject to logistics and availability in the relevant hall. Application for a permit by e-mail (stating company name and stand number) to custombuiltstand@buchmesse.de; deadline is 1 August 2022.

Extended Dismantling is subject to a fee of 765 euros, unless Early Access has already been applied for and invoiced.

Naturally you can also place orders shortly before the event or even while it is in process. As a result, some services related to suspensions, compressed air, electricity and water connections, stand cleaning and security are subject to an express surcharge in the amount of 25% of the service price for all orders received 21 days or less before the event.

  • The hall plan (PDF) offers you an overview of all the exhibition areas at Buchmesse 2022.

Furthermore, we have placed three other plans (car parks and gates, services on the exhibition grounds, overview of goods lifts) on the Messe Frankfurt website for you.

Fahrzeugregistrierung bei der Messe Frankfurt

Accessing the exhibition grounds during set-up and dismantling phases

Messe Frankfurt’s new Central Traffic Management system has offered customer vehicles optimised access to the exhibition grounds during the set-up and dismantling phases of events. For this purpose, we ask exhibitors, stand construction companies and freight forwarders to register online in advance.

Once you have a print-out of the registration confirmation, you can go to the specified check-in. Please follow the signs from the motorway exit F-Rebstock (address for your navigation device: Bruno-Poelke-Strasse).

During the set-up and dismantling phase (incl. early set-up and extended dismantling), vehicles may only access the exhibition grounds through the check-in. Here, the check-in staff will see whether a loading zone is available for you. If it is, you will be given an authorisation form specifying the gate through which you can access the exhibition grounds.

Please note: In case of high volume of traffic waiting times are possible at the check-in!
Please note that only vehicles with an authorisation form will be allowed on to the exhibition grounds.

More information is available in the Check-in guide and the FAQs.
